What would you prefer: MySpace fame, or "real" fame?

Personally, I'd rather be MySpace famous, than actually famous. You still get fan mail, you still get your face in magazines and on the news, and at any point, you can go on a "break," and you won't have to deal with it. You can stop going online for any period of time, and as long as you don't give out your contact information to your "friends" on MySpace, you can have privacy all you like. And you'll still make money off your fame.

That said, MySpace fame won't make you happy. I've been there, done that. It's fun, but it won't make you happy. Then again, I doubt "real" fame makes people very happy, either.

Regardless, I'd prefer to be MySpace famous, as opposed to "really" famous.

Before I even clicked this...

I was thinking Myspace fame. For every reason you said.

Especially for the privacy, in reality, you decide what people know if you're myspace famous.
