I think it is better to be renowned for your talent, so I advise you to become as good an actor or musician as you can. Then when you achieve recognition perhaps it will have some quality and substance attached to it.

just persist on it. make yourself better every step of the way until you excel. Doing something because you love it is the beginning. Becoming famous for it will just follow.

Well, you can become famous like Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan, for being a drunken idiot - that will get you in the papers fast! But if you are SINCERE about pursuing a career in music or theatrics, then you should plan on majoring in that field in college. That means you have to get INTO a good college for that field - and do I need to tell you hard hard THAT is??? I have taught vocal music since 1971, and have had many students go on and do well - but you need the LESSONS, and the grades, and the experience. Sitting at home going "Ooooh, I want it so bad!" is TOTALLY useless - unless you get going and start working a PLAN to get yourself to your dream.

MySpace is full of wannabees. So is YouTube. There are VERY few pros or serious people who even bother - people is the business basically LAUGH at the stupidity of people thinking that posting themselves online is actually going to LEAD to something really happening!
