Because scene kids think they really unique, and really cool and have cool hair and clothes. Though they are not unique they all just shop at hottopic and look identical. And since every damned teenager has become a scene kid, they are "popular".

This whole famousw on myspace was influenced by LoveBites %26amp; Bruises, who brought in the whole coloured, expressive jewelry and the clothes followed suit. loads of the kids started making their own jewelry, and because lovebites and bruises is actually famous i.e. has been on TV, they seem to think they are famous too,.
